The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has announced the 2026 Medicare Parts A and B premiums and deductibles, which reflect increases from 2025 levels. Starting January 1, 2026, the standard monthly premium for Medicare Part B will be $202.90, up from $185 in 2025.
The annual deductible for Part B will increase to $283, compared to $257 in 2025. These increases follow several years of rising Medicare costs that impact beneficiary budgets.
Medicare Part B covers medically necessary services including doctor visits, outpatient hospital care, home health services, lab tests, and durable medical equipment. The premium increases help fund these essential healthcare services.
Medicare Part A, which provides inpatient hospital coverage, will also see cost adjustments. The inpatient hospital deductible for the first 60 days of care will rise to $1,736 in 2026, up from $1,676 in 2025.
These premium and deductible increases align with the 2.8% Social Security cost-of-living adjustment for 2026. Beneficiaries should review their budgets to account for these higher costs.
